B.B.Gabor - B.B.Gabor (1979, CA, pop)
Tuesday, October 2, 2007, 06:55 PM - Music, - CA, English
B. B. Gabor was the stage name of Gabor Hegedus (1948-1990), a Hungarian-born Canadian pop singer. Hegedus fled with his parents to England in 1956 after the Soviet invasion of Hungary.
On January 17, 1990, Gabor's body was found by police at his Toronto apartment. His death was ruled a suicide. Always sad to hear those things.

Blueprint - Prototypes (1980, UK/CA, pub rock/new wave)
Tuesday, March 6, 2007, 07:50 PM - Music, - CA, - UK, English
Prototypes was a sampler by the Blueprint label. On it, 2 songs each of four acts: Fabulous Poodles, Karel Fialka, The Crooks and B.B.Gabor. The bands had not much in common and Blueprint was not a success and disappeared soon.
I personally like the dark synthesizer work of Karel Fialka the best.

Side one:
1 Fabulous Poodles - Mirror Star [4:25]
2 Fabulous Poodles - Pink City Twist [2:17]
3 Karel Fialka - Armband [3:27]
4 Karel Fialka - People are Strange (Doors cover) [3:02]

Side two:
1 The Crooks - Modern Boys [2:45]
2 The Crooks - Sound of Today [2:46]
3 B.B. Gabor - Soviet Jewellery [2:35]
4 B.B. Gabor - All the Time [5:02]

Claude Denjean - Moog! (1971, FR/CA, popular electronic)
Saturday, November 11, 2006, 06:18 PM - Music, - CA, - FR, English
Space versions of popular tunes, mostly moog, some guitar, bass and drums. In my search from which country Claude Denjean actually is coming, I stumbled on a page of Nationaal Pop Institute (NL) where it states that he arranged three lp's with songs of Annie M.G. Schmidt sung by Conny Stuart. Very Dutch.
Here I found the answer where he is coming from.
Denjaen made two other moog records: Open Circuit and Moods. All on Phase 4.

Side one:
1 Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye
2 Nights In White Satin
3 Sugar, Sugar
4 Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head
5 House Of The Rising Sun
6 Everybody's Talkin'

Side two:
1 Venus
2 Come Together
3 Bridge Over Troubled Water
4 Lay Lady Lay
5 United We Stand
6 Proud Mary
